Redfoot Production – The Winslow Boy: Then and Now

The Winslow Boy: Then and Now

What if you were accused of something you didn’t do?
What if the world believed the accusation?
And what if your family risked everything to prove your innocence?

The Winslow Boy: Then and Now is a fresh Year 9 adaptation of the classic play The Winslow Boy, inspired by a true story set before World War I. In this inventive “show within a show,” two teenagers go on a date to see the play — but as they watch, the story begins to echo their own lives.

As the audience journeys between past and present, the Winslow family’s fight for justice unfolds alongside the modern struggles of young people navigating friendship, romance, and reputation in a world shaped by social media and instant judgement.

Blending historical drama with contemporary perspectives, this production asks powerful questions about truth, loyalty, and fairness. When reputations can be destroyed in an instant, the Winslows’ determination to stand by what is right feels more relevant than ever.

Thought-provoking, engaging, and performed by our talented Year 9 students, The Winslow Boy: Then and Now invites audiences to reflect on how the past still speaks to the challenges of today.

This show will run for approximately 90mins and is suitable for ages 12 +.
