Hale@Home

Hale@home is a distance learning programme that builds your son’s confidence with his transition to boarding by establishing connections with future Hale boarders, teachers and learning technologies. This innovative programme was the first of its kind in WA, using technology to bridge the gap between students living in rural/regional areas and their future school.

In the year prior to starting, students connect online for weekly conversations, presentations and projects. Sessions are led by boarding staff who will also be the main pastoral care contacts when boys enter boarding at Hale.

Your family will be invited to Hale School to attend an orientation camp mid-year where you will meet the other boarding families you have connected with online. The Hale@home teaching team, where possible, will also visit your home to discuss your son’s progress and to receive feedback.

Research and feedback on the programme confirm that it helps lift the boys’ confidence and optimism about dealing with the transition to boarding life.

Brilliant programme and I constantly rave about it with other parents considering which boarding school to send their boys in Perth. It was definitely the deal breaker for us to send our two boys to Hale.
