Hale Southwest

Hale School is coming to the South West region! Not in body, but in spirit.

We will not be building a campus in the region but will be offering a taste of the Hale School experience through a NEW after-school enrichment program.

Evidence increasingly points to the fact that boys in this country and around the world are struggling with their learning and falling behind girls. Hale School students continue to defy this trend with our focus squarely on boys’ learning needs. It is our aim to share some of this knowledge beyond Perth.

Why the South West?

Hale School has connections in this region, through current and past students, families and staff. Some want the flexibility to live in this beautiful part of the world but have an opportunity to be part of the Hale School experience.

As the region is growing and there is increasing demand for after-school programs and support, now seems an opportune time to offer something new that complements what local schools provide.

"Hale School has many connections to the South West region and I am excited to bring a taste of the Hale experience to boys in this wonderful corner of the world."
– Wendy Cormack,
Hale Southwest Coordinator

What’s on offer?

We know your son already goes to school, so this is not more of the same. One of our excellent staff members now lives in the region and will offer an in-person, individualised program of academic and co-curricular enrichment in a small group setting.

Since it will be tailored to the needs of each individual student, it may look different for each one. Some boys may need more assistance with foundation concepts; others will want extra academic challenge and extension.

There will be a focus on the core competencies of literacy and numeracy, with some Humanities and Social Science (HaSS) investigations.

The program will also include an opportunity for participants to attend a weekend camp at Hale School’s Perth campus where they can take part in the co-curricular life of the School.

The Hale Southwest program provides an opportunity for families considering boarding school to get a feel for the Hale experience. However, there is no requirement for participants to enrol at Hale School.
