PSA

Hale is a proud member of the Public Schools’ Association (PSA), which comprises seven independent boys’ schools in Perth, including Aquinas College, Christ Church Grammar School, Guildford Grammar School, Scotch College, Trinity College and Wesley College.

The PSA provides collegial opportunities between students from the various schools, most notably the interschool sporting competitions. During the summer sport seasons, the boys compete in basketball, cricket, rowing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo, and may also participate in one-day events such as surfing and golf. During the winter season they participate in athletics, badminton, cross country, football, hockey, rugby and soccer. There are various team levels, which allow for both friendly meets and highly competitive matches. PSA sport is the breeding ground for many professional sportsmen, with recruiters often sighted at 1st division games.

The PSA offers other co-curricular opportunities, such as debating, public speaking and chess competitions, as well as networking events, particularly for the boarding students.

Beyond school, the PSA connection offers boys a wider network in addition to the Old Haleians’ Association.
