BOARDERS’ FARMERS’ MARKET RETURNS

August 31, 2021

The much anticipated Hale Boarders’ Farmers’ Market returned this year after a two-year hiatus.

Even a couple of heavy downpours couldn’t dampen the spirits of the Hale community, who turned up in their hundreds to enjoy this popular, family-friendly event.

The day brought together stalls selling farm-fresh produce, baked goods, crafts, hot food and drinks, as well as live entertainment in support of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Hale boarding houses. A big thank you to Hale boarding families for donating their time and products in support of these great causes.

One of the most popular draw cards of the day was the dog jumping competition, which pitted the city dogs against their well-versed furry friends from the country. Many petite pooches gave it their best shot, but the country dogs definitely had a leg up!

The Hale Farmers’ Market was first introduced in 2016 and has gone from strength to strength, becoming a biennial family event.
