BUSHFIRE AFFECTED SCHOOL GIVES THANKS

October 5, 2020

During the catastrophic bushfires around Esperance in 2015, the town of Scaddan was devastated. Scaddan Primary School was closed for several weeks due to smoke damage and tree removal surrounding the school.

Hale School has links to several local families, whose fathers or sons attended Hale. In support of this regional community, Hale donated $25,000 in 2015 to assist Scaddan Primary School to redecorate classrooms and build new playgrounds.

On their way to Esperance to visit local members of our Hale School community last weekend, Headmaster, Dean Dell’Oro and Head of Boarding, David Bourne, were invited to drop by Scaddan Primary School to see where the money was spent.

“It was fantastic to be shown around this wonderful local school and to see their pride in the school and appreciation for Hale’s generosity,” said Mr Dell’Oro.

Scaddan Primary School Council members Mandy Bouckaert and Elaine Egan gifted Hale a sapling to plant in gratitude.

We wish this resilient community all the best.
