FINE ART @ HALE GOES ONLINE

July 24, 2020

Perth’s favourite school-based, professional art exhibition, Fine Art@Hale is back in a new format this year. The Fine Art@Hale 2020 online exhibition provides the perfect opportunity to support the arts while inviting some colour, creativity and inspiration back into our lives!

Amidst the evolving environment surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic, the Fine Art@Hale Committee made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s physical exhibition and instead will stage an exhibition via an online catalogue and sale.

That certainly doesn’t mean it will be a diminished version of our usual, high-calibre exhibition. With over 90 exhibiting artists, including more than 30 new artists to the exhibition, our 2020 offering may be different, but it still promises to showcase a variety of outstanding talent and pieces.

The visual arts sector has been particularly impacted by the economic effects around the large-scale cancellation of arts events this year, so taking the exhibition online has provided an opportunity for Fine Art@Hale to support the many artists who committed to exhibit with us this year.

The online platform will offer a fantastic visual experience with a collection of works from almost 100 invited Western Australian artists across a range of artistic media. Our regular patrons will be familiar with many of our artists, but the curatorial team have also invited new artists to exhibit this year.

Visitors to the website www.fineartathale.org will be able to view the online exhibition by exhibiting artist, viewing all artworks as a group, or by the more traditional style of a page-turning catalogue.  Patrons can also cast an online vote in the People’s Choice Award and go into the draw to win a beautiful ceramic piece by 2019 exhibitor, ceramist Sandra Black.

“We trust our supportive patrons will enjoy the new online format for 2020 and the selection of art from this talented group of emerging and established Western Australian artists,” said Andrine Terry, Fine Art@Hale Committee Chair. “We hope to be back on campus in 2021, but in the meantime, click on the links to our current blogs where we explore some of the events that will form part of Fine Art@Hale 2020, and follow us on social media for all the latest news.”
