PSA SPORT RETURNS FROM HIATUS

June 16, 2020

PSA sport returned last weekend with much anticipation and resounding victories for Hale School in the first round against Wesley College.

After interschool sport was postponed in March due to concerns and restrictions relating to COVID-19, the boys were raring to go when the first round of winter sport matches were announced.

The PSA sport rounds were a welcome relief, not just for the players but for sports fans, who tuned into the livestream broadcast to catch a glimpse of high-calibre 1st football action. The games were some of the first organised sport matches to be played across the nation as restrictions were lifted.

Defending not only the 1st XVIII title but also soccer and hockey, Hale’s teams were prepared and ready to pull out all the stops. Hale definitively won its debut AFL, soccer and badminton matches, and all but the 1st hockey game, with mixed results in cross country. A stellar premiere weekend!

Next weekend’s round against Scotch College is expected to be a challenge as Hale prepares to hold its ground in an attempt to replicate last years’ PSA record of six sporting trophies across the year.

Other PSA schools that Hale will compete against include Aquinas College, Christ Church Grammar School, Guildford Grammar and Trinity College.
