Full-time, ongoing position commencing June 2026

Hale School is Western Australia’s oldest independent boys’ school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48-hectare site, approximately thirteen kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.

Hale School is seeking applications for the full-time, ongoing position of Maintenance Officer. The Maintenance Officer provides services throughout the campus to support a range of ongoing maintenance operations that maintain the School facilities to a high standard and ensure a safe work environment for students and staff.

The Maintenance Officer will be required to carry out minor works projects, assist with facilities and equipment maintenance or inspections, address maintenance requests via the School’s online maintenance request system, assist with school event set up and set down activities and assist in the management of the School vehicle fleet.

This is a busy and varied customer focused role requiring a strong work ethic. Candidates should show evidence of working as part of a team.

The successful applicant will:

• Possess appropriate skills to assist with facilities maintenance with a trade/maintenance background, or handyperson skills being highly desirable.
• Moderate level of computer competency for emailing, Excel and Word.
• Good communication skills – written and verbal.
• Good time management and planning skills.
• Possess adequate strength and fitness to be able to assist with moving furniture and equipment.
• Contribute positively to a team environment.
• Be eligible to work in Western Australian schools. This will involve associated Police Clearances and a current Working with Children (WWCC) Check.
