Welcome to the Hale School website
Founded in 1858, Hale School is the oldest boys’ School in Western Australia. We are very proud of our heritage and our successes. We are fortunate to have 48 hectares of expansive grounds that provides the canvas for a very unique education. We continue to look to the future with confidence that we will always equip young men for the challenges of a global and interconnected world.
I encourage you to peruse this website as it will give you a taste of our academic, pastoral and co-curricular programmes. It offers a starting point from which to learn about our School and how it might fit with the values of you and your family.
Values of an institution are important and when aligned with a family will ensure an exciting, absorbing and purposeful education. A strength of our School is that we are a community with many staff living at the School, ensuring that our education is immersive and complete.
That we are a School for boys with an Anglican tradition that provides an authentic education, in all aspects of their educations, says much about the School. That Hale offers both day and boarding to students from all over the country and the world is equally of critical importance. The diversity of our students’ backgrounds sets the foundation for a broad education of the whole person.
I firmly believe that it is the quality of the relationships that exist between students and staff that define the exceptional education provided. The interrelations between the students, staff and the wider community sets the tone of that boy’s education. In respect to quality and tone, in my view, we lead the way.
What this website won’t do, however, is give you an appreciation of the depth of our programmes, the professionalism of our staff and the positive learning culture within our School. Most importantly it will not allow you to speak with the students who are our greatest asset. I sincerely hope that you will come to Hale to visit our remarkable grounds, hear about our programmes, meet our wonderful staff and – most importantly – listen to our impressive students.
I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to Hale School.
