SUMMER SPORT SUCCESS

April 1, 2026

Hale School has celebrated an outstanding 2025/26 PSA summer sport season, highlighted by four premiership victories and strong performances across the board.

Leading the charge, Hale claimed premierships in cricket, basketball, volleyball and swimming. The 1st V basketball team continued its dominance, securing the Blackwood Cup for the third consecutive year, while the 1st VI volleyball team reinforced its reputation as a powerhouse, bringing home the Brother Carrigg Shield for the sixth time in eight years. On the cricket field, the 1st XI delivered another exceptional campaign, claiming back-to-back Darlot Cup titles.

A particularly special achievement came in the pool, where Hale’s swimmers captured the K.G. Tregonning Cup for the first time in a decade. The PSA Swimming Carnival victory marked Hale’s 41st overall title and its first since 2016, a testament to the dedication of the squad. Approximately 115 swimmers represented the School with pride, contributing to a memorable team performance.

The night was made even more impressive with three records broken: the Open 4 x 50m freestyle relay, the Open 4 x 50m medley relay, and the Open 200m individual medley by Tadgh Smith (Year 12).

Across other sports, Hale teams continued to build momentum. The 1st tennis team achieved its highest finish in several years, placing second, while the 1st water polo team showed significant improvement to finish fourth.

These results reflect the commitment, resilience and sportsmanship of all students who represented Hale throughout the season. Whether in victory or defeat, the boys competed with integrity and pride, supported by dedicated coaches and staff. It has been a season that truly reflects the strength of sport at Hale School.
