Hale School is proud to acknowledge the incredible efforts of the 2020 graduating class, who all achieved the WACE and an outstanding median Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 90.35.
In 2020, 169 or 87.1% of Hale students received an ATAR and 23 students were involved in the CareerLink programme and 2 on a General pathway.
WACE highlights:
- 100% of Hale students achieved WACE graduation (one of only 16 schools in WA).
- The median ATAR for Hale was 90.35 (WA median was 81.65).
- Michael Garas achieved the ‘perfect score’ of 99.95 (one of only 14 students).
- Henry Osterberg, Owen Crofts and Cameron Gregory received General Exhibitions, awarded to the top 50 WACE students.
- Blair Fowler received the award for Excellence in Vocational Education and Training, completing a Certificate II in Plumbing.
- 4 Subject Certificates of Excellence were awarded to the top 0.5% of the State in a subject: Owen Crofts (Economics and Literature), Heath Davis (Mathematics Applications), Michael Garas (Mathematics Methods).
- 88 or 52% of Hale ATAR students were in the top 10% of the nation with an ATAR of 90 or above.
- 44 or 26% of our ATAR students were in the top 5% of the nation with an ATAR of 95 or above.
- 12 or 7 % of our ATAR students were in the top 1% of the nation with an ATAR of 99 or above.

“I feel very proud of the results and outcomes that these boys have achieved because I know 2020 was an unpredictable year for them and this would have made Year 12 just that little more challenging,” said Headmaster, Dean Dell’Oro.
“On behalf of the wider Hale School community, I congratulate every boy who completed Year 12 last year. We acknowledge their commitment knowing that their education at Hale will lead them to a world of possibilities as they head towards new pathways and goals.”
Hale School prioritised onsite schooling for the Year 12 students during COVID-19 restrictions, ensuring they only missed one week of face-to-face teaching.
