Why do we love boarders at Hale School?  We value their unique contribution to the school; from the dust and red dirt of the outback to the sky scrapers around the globe, they become an integral part of our community as they immerse themselves in the day to day life of Hale.
Caring for our 200 boarders continues to be one of the School's most important priorities. During their time at Hale, boarders are surrounded by a team of caring people who provide support and guidance to make life away from home a little easier. Our experienced staff and their families live on campus with the boys, providing a caring, loving and family-like environment.
We love boarders and they love the boarding experience Hale offers.

For boys entering Years 7 and 8, we have a specific Middle School boarding house. Brine House is an environment where staff specifically caters to the developmental needs of young adolescents.
The Senior boarding house, affectionately referred to as ‘The Hale Hilton’ offers a spacious and modern home, located to the east of the school buildings and adjacent to the sports fields and natural bushland.
Our young men enjoy having their own bedroom from Years 10 to12 with the Year 9s sharing large bedrooms.  Feedback from senior boarders includes how much they enjoy sharing common spaces where much like your own home, they like to focus on fun, food and friends.
Food can be a priority for teenage boys and we know how to feed them! Breakfast and dinner are available in the Tom Hoar Dining Hall, which operates on a cafeteria-style basis, with morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and supper making up the rest of the daily menu.

You and your son’s overall boarding experience is the primary concern of our Head of Boarding. The Head of Boarding works closely with the Heads of Houses and Assistant Heads of Houses, who all live on site with their families, they as a team work to ensure the smooth running of the houses.  The Housemothers, School Counsellors and Health Centre staff make up the rest of the boarding family who all play a major role in providing guidance, love and care.
There are a host of activities for students to enjoy, including beach outings, sporting fixtures, movies and socials with girls' schools.
