SUMMARY:Redfoot Production - The Winslow Boy: Then and Now
DESCRIPTION:Our E-Program is available HERE\nThe Winslow Boy: Then and Now\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat if you were accused of something you didn’t do?\nWhat if the world believed the accusation?\nAnd what if your family risked everything to prove your innocence? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Winslow Boy: Then and Now is a fresh Year 9 adaptation of the classic play The Winslow Boy\, inspired by a true story set before World War I. In this inventive “show within a show\,” two teenagers go on a date to see the play — but as they watch\, the story begins to echo their own lives.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs the audience journeys between past and present\, the Winslow family’s fight for justice unfolds alongside the modern struggles of young people navigating friendship\, romance\, and reputation in a world shaped by social media and instant judgement. \nBlending historical drama with contemporary perspectives\, this production asks powerful questions about truth\, loyalty\, and fairness. When reputations can be destroyed in an instant\, the Winslows’ determination to stand by what is right feels more relevant than ever. \nThought-provoking\, engaging\, and performed by our talented Year 9 students\, The Winslow Boy: Then and Now invites audiences to reflect on how the past still speaks to the challenges of today. \nThis show will run for approximately 90mins and is suitable for ages 12 +. \nPERFORMANCES\nThursday 11 & Friday 12 June\, 7:00pm\n \nVENUE: Cygnet Theatre\, Hale School\, Wembley Downs \n\n\n\n\n\nDURATION: 90 minutes (with a 20-minute interval)SUITABILITY: Mature Themes. Ages 12+ \nVisit: www.redfootyouththeatre.com.au for further details of our 2026 performance season. \n\nDon’t just watch the play.\nStep into the date.\nStep into the story within the story.\nStep into The Winslow Boy: Then and Now.\n\nTICKETS AVAILABLE HERE

SUMMARY:Jazz\, Downstairs at the Maj
DESCRIPTION:In major cities around the world\, Monday nights are renowned as the “off night” when professional theatre musicians\, from Broadway to the West End and even here in Perth\, come together to play in jazz big bands. On Monday 22 June\, Hale Jazz will proudly follow this tradition\, giving our students the unique opportunity to perform in a real jazz club\, located in the basement of His Majesty’s Theatre. Just as importantly\, the evening allows our young musicians to hear one another perform in a professional setting\, learning from their peers while sharing their music with family\, friends\, and the wider community. \nThe night will feature a showcase of senior school ensembles\, including the Saxophone Quartet\, Jazz Guitar Ensemble\, Jazz Blast Off!\, Big Band 1\, Big Band 2\, and our premier ensemble\, the Hale Jazz Orchestra. Tickets are limited and expected to sell quickly\, and we warmly encourage families to book early to support our musicians on this special night. \nTickets available HERE \nDownstairs at the Maj\, 825 Hay St\, Perth

SUMMARY:Shave for Ryan
DESCRIPTION:Building on the incredible support of the inaugural Shave for Ryan in 2023\, we invite Hale students to once again take part in this special event in memory of Ryan Murphy\, a Year 12 student who sadly passed away in early 2023 from Glioblastoma – an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer. \nThe Hale School community continues to raise funds for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Ryan shared a strong connection with the Institute through the Perkins Professor’s Academy. Thanks to the generosity of our community\, an honorary place in the Academy has been established in Ryan’s name. \nStudents can register to have their head shaved to a #3 cut for $20. \nAdditional donations in support of this important cause are warmly welcomed and gratefully received. \nWe encourage all boys participating in the shave to raise funds and awareness within their family and friendship groups – sharing why this cause matters and who they are honouring. \nWe are grateful to have professional hairdressers from within the Hale community volunteering their time and expertise for the day. \nREGISTER HERE. \nPlease note: Only students who have pre-registered will be able to participate in the shave.
