On Sunday 10 June, Hale Jazz took over 'Downstairs at the Maj' in the city for the annual Jazz Showcase.
The venue was packed to the rafters with enthusiastic Hale families, staff and friends to hear the State’s best young jazz musicians present a night of uptempo jazz from the 1920s to the present day. Coordinator of the jazz program at Hale, Gavin Kerr, said that it was one of the best Hale Jazz events he has been part of in the last 10 years, with the boys playing at a standard that blew everyone away. Some even commented that it was like being in New York! Well done to all involved.
