Featuring over 20 Redfoot Youth Theatre
members from Year 7 to Year 9 and based on Tom Hungerford's autobiography, Stories from Suburban Road
vividly portrays the pleasure and pain of growing up in South Perth between the two world wars through a unique collection of episodes that are based on the author's own childhood and adolescence in semi-rural suburbia in Western Australia. Bird-nesting and the school day, crabbing and swimming in the Swan River, Chinese market gardens and the bush, South Perth Zoo and the old corner store are all brought to life through the eyes of a boy growing up in the 1920’s and 30’s.
