Chapel

Weddings

The Chapel is a lovely place for a wedding, but it is not available to the general public or on Sundays. Old Boys of the school and the daughters of Old Boys are eligible. They will be aware that the services conducted in the chapel are in accord with the usage of the Rites of the Anglican Church of Australia so that only a Christian wedding service is offered.

Persons who do not fit the categories above, yet who feel they have a connection with the school, and seek a Christian wedding service in the chapel must make written application to the Headmaster Mr Stuart Meade.

All marriages in Australia must conform to the requirements of the 1961 Commonwealth Marriage Act. The Act requires that a Notice of Intention to Marry be submitted at up to 18 months prior to, but at least one calendar month before the wedding day. This form is available from the Chaplain or the Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages. http://www.bdm.dotag.wa.gov.au/G/getting_married.aspx?uid=2928-1999-8448-2131

In addition, all weddings in the chapel are preceded by counselling sessions with the chaplain or designated minister. This will usually necessitate more than the 31 days minimum notice required by the Commonwealth
