Romeo and Juliet
Student Production
Directed by Adelaide Buchannan

Paint splashing across the stage and fourteen white-suited bodies work as a tight ensemble cast to bring Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet to life. There are no weapons in this Verona, just paint, and when people like Tybalt are around to ruin your fun and games, someone is bound to get hurt.

Shakespeare’s original language juxtaposed with striking music takes the audience on a unique journey through the well known tale of Romeo and Juliet.

Dracula
Student Production
Adapted and Directed by George Ashforth
Years 10 - 11

A deep and thorough exploration of 17th century sexuality, Bram Stoker's Dracula is a sensual mix of gothic love and dark, forbidden exploits in turn-of-the-century Protestant England. A combination of solid movement with a sombre soundtrack, this play demonstrates the amazing ability of stories to change and morph over centuries into a new style, until you end up with a cape-wearing menace, hated and feared the world over. Attempting to strip away the stereotype, this piece will challenge audiences and performers alike.

Peter Pan
Directed by Warwick Doddrell
Year 8

Neverland! A child’s paradise. There are pirates and fairies and mermaids and indians and sword fights and magic and flying! But childish games and adventures cannot last forever. For there are many joys of being a child which grownups cannot  remember, just as there are many joys for grownups which children will never know. But, it was the adventure of three children, three children in particular, who discovered the greatest adventure of them all.

This year’s storytelling project, Peter Pan, will be a highly physical ensemble creation utilising elements of puppetry to bring JM Barrie’s classic story to life. The production will then tour to local primary schools in December.

Year 9

Redfoot are proud to welcome Kate Kelly back to direct this season’s Year 9 production. Many of you at redfoot will be familiar with Kate through her performance as Silly Cinderella and her recent visiting production of Mud.

Feather Boy is about a boy called Robert. Although he may not be the most popular, or may not have it as easy as his class mates – Robert himself chose to help an old lady whose past has finally caught up with her. Robert sets out to find the truth to help her to her freedom of joining the present, and in doing so, learns a lot about his own dreams of flying away.
