The Hale Cross Country course may only be 3km, however, it is a challenging course recognised by all those who run it. The affectionately labelled ‘chunder hill’ has become synonymous with all boys, particularly those who experience firsthand how it found its name.
The wild, wet and windy conditions made for a most memorable House Cross Country day. As the conditions continually worsened, the boys turned for home into a headwind that should have deposited them a few suburbs away. Despite the dreadful conditions, the boys embraced the day with their usual House spirit with the majority of boys completing the course.
Congratulations to Wilson House, who won the Challenge Cup for overall champion house for the 6th year in a row. Interestingly, the last time a day house won was in 1976!
